Crafturday – Varia Suit Samus Papercraft

This isn’t an easy craft, but it is one with really impressive result. As stated by its creator,

First of all, as you can probably tell from the picture, this is not a good craft for beginners! The model stands 12 inches tall (about 30 cm), has 13 pages, and has 347 pieces. So, if you are fairly new to papercrafting, then I recommend you get a bit more experience before attempting this model.

So if you have the guts and patience for this beautiful Varia Suit Samus, files are in here.

Wow, that’s so sweet!!! Can you please caption it or maybe transcript? I would like to know how I can make those potions but I’m deaf so… Please? :) Also how I can get those potion glasses!

By the way, the sword falling on the treadmill made me laugh XD

Hello, Caro! You can press the CC button and click in the second option, that probably will be something like “Transcript Audio” [I´m using youtube in another language so I don´t know exactly what is written but will be something meaning the same thing]. This will give automatic subtitles to this video and almost all videos on youtube :)

    Crafturday – Gamy Post-it Battle

Have you heard that Ubisoft have declared war to BNP? Probably not, but worry not, my friend, it is not an economical [or armed] kind of war. The companies are amid a different kind of confrontation, a more creative one. The french blog Olybop have spotted the weapons used in the struggle and, as you can figure for yourself, they are lighter than expected.

    Crafturday – Zelda Chess Set

So I was just wandering around the webs when I stumbled into this: Zelda inspired Chess! That’s just too much for someone like myself to ignore so I rushed into Benjamin Howard’s site, Fizz Man Industries. In there, there are lots of Benjamin’s creations, all of them an homage to videogames characters, since, in Benjamin’s words

As you probably guessed, I love video games. Well, you’d be wrong. I don’t love video games as much as I love video game characters.

Getting back to this lovely Zelda Chess, pieces are made with polymer clay and painted with acrylic, all handmade. The whole set took him e months to be done since he uses no mold, each piece is unique. There are a lot of other cool stuff at  Fizz Man Industries so make sure to check it out too.

If you liked Benjamin’s work, he still doesn’t have an online store but he does work under a commission method. Just send him a message and I’m sure you can work something out :)

    Crafturday – Metroid NES

Here it comes one more NES mod and this too based on classic games. This custom NES was inspired by Samus Aran’s Varia Suit and, as you can see it, involved the whole console, from the console itself to the controllers. BleedingViolin is the one behind this amazing transformation and e praise it affirming “these ARE NOT stickers, NOT interchangeable skins, NON Photoshop work; this is HANDMADE and the devices all function properly.”

If you, like me, have absolutely no idea how to achieve this result without using stickers and photoshop, don’t worry! BleedingViolin also make customizations to order, so if you are just around Netherlands or don’t mind international shipping rates, here is your chance to have an exclusive console.

You can see more of BleedingViolin custom consoles at his DeviantArt page under the name ricepuppet.

    Crafturday – Bit.trip Beat Papercraft

Last week Lira reviewed bit.trip beat so I wonder: what could be better than a Commander Video craft? So I found this lovely Commander Video papercraft which is very simple to put together: all you will need is a printer, scissors and some glue.
