Crafturday – Game Sculptures

Nowadays, with 3D graphics, we usually don’t stop to wonder anymore about the “physical structure” of game characters since the graphics on the screen are pretty much realistic. But back in the 80’s and 90’s, it was common to look to those minimalistic sprites and try to figure them out. One of my friends says that he just understood that the brown pixel on Mario’s face was a mustache after looking to the cartridge and the manual. That’s why I love Jaime Margary‘s sculpures  of 2D heroes; his interpretations always have something to surprise me. Take the PacMan for example; have you ever even consider that this dot eater could have that wrinkled skin?
